Member Outreach Specialist

**This position is remote for candidates living in Maryland or bordering/nearby states**

Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do.


The Member Outreach Specialist is responsible for outreach efforts with SECU membership in support of all business product lines. The Member Outreach Specialist will conduct consultative conversations with SECU’s field of membership to identify and recommend SECU products and services to develop mutually beneficial relationships. This individual serves as the primary facilitator of member onboarding follow-ups and other outreach efforts via outbound calling. This individual may be responsible for assisting members in opening additional products, such as deposit accounts or consumer loans, as well as helping to set appointments and driving business with our Financial Centers, Lending, Business, and SECU Financial Partners teams. The Member Outreach Specialist is also responsible for connecting with our membership in the method in which they prefer, whether it is by phone, email, or virtual connection. The Member Outreach Specialist has a thorough knowledge of SECU’s products and services and is accountable for their behaviors and results while upholding SECU’s Code of Conduct. Compensation for this position will be weighed heavily on goal attainment and the ability to achieve agreed upon performance targets.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Effectively demonstrate knowledgeable interviewing, active listening and strong communication and coaching skills when working with members in all delivery channels.
  • Engage in consultative member communications through all channels (phone, email, virtual), while adhering to all SECU service level agreements.
  • Deliver on activities to deepen the member relationship through outbound calling efforts and/or community engagement and development.
  • Educate members on self-service, digital, and alternative methods of banking to support Retail strategy and initiatives.
  • Educate members on all applicable products, services, and channels of delivery, based on need.
  • Deliver on expected performance indicators around member outreach, appointment setting, partner referrals, and service, including quality referral and cross-sell success.
  • Partner with Retail Leadership to set value-add SMART goals and create Individual Development Plans impacting professional development.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For.

  • Minimum of 3 years of outbound sales calling experience, must be proficient in managing inbound/outbound calls in a timely manner.
  • Consultative sales experience in a financial or banking industry role, with a proven record of accomplishment building customer loyalty and expanding financial literacy and well-being.
  • Demonstrated ability to goal attainment through strong familiarity of lending and retail banking products and services.
  • Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening; must be customer service focused.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration
